Cylinder Head Pressure Testing

Pressure testing is the best method of testing for cracks because cracks in areas that are not visible can still be found.  These areas include under the valve seat or half way down a head bolt hole.  We use universal deck plates and universal port block off plates in various sizes. These cover 95% percent of all heads and 100% of the heads we repair at Complete Auto Repair. To check for cracks, we block all of the cooling system ports, then we pressurize the water jacket (up to 10 times normal cooling system pressure).  If cracks are present we'll find them for you.
